Hey guys,

I while back I made a pneumatic dimpler for dimpling flush head rivet holes. You can see the picture attached.

Problem was, it wouldn't do anything but dimple thin aluminum skins. Also, it used a lot of air and was noisy.

So, I have a new project. I'm building an electric rivet squeezer. There's a CAD model pic attached. Here are some specs:

25" Deep X 4" tall throat.
- Reaches the middle of a 4 foot wide sheet

10,000 lbs force
- Dimple aluminum and steel up to 2" diameter and .125" thickness
- Squeeze aluminum and steel rivets up to 3/16"
- Bend sheet metal - up to .125" thick and 12" wide

Electric servo motor driven
- 110 VAC power
- Quiet! No compressed air
- Fast! Up to 500 hits per minute

Computer programmable and controllable
- Programmable stroke depth
- Programmable retract height
- Dwell, ramp up/down, multiple hit, etc.

So, this thing will replace your C frame dimpler, your pneumatic squeezers, and your sheet metal brake.

Here's the down side... If I were to sell these I'd have to charge $4,000 or so to come out on top.

What do you guys think? Am I spinning my wheels or is this a good idea?
