For the life of me I can't find any posts relating to this. Sorry, it must be covered in plenty of places. I'm clearly losing it.

I had two rivet holes that were too far apart (per design requirements; min 40mm, actual ~47mm) so drilled a pilot hole through the skin into the rib half way between the two. Later, when I pulled out all the clecos and lifted the skin, I discovered that this hole is right through a flute in the rib.

What's the go here? Do I ignore it and do another rivet outside the flute area? Do I try and rework the flute somehow so that the hole is usable? Do I ditch the rib and make a fresh one?

It's the HS on a Zenith. The rib and the skin are both 0.025" 6061-T6.

Appreciate any guidance
