The Variable Incidence Tailplane thread got me thinking about a problem with many homebuilt designs.

Could we have a general discussion on ideas, historical methods, and brainstorming on designing our homebuilts to be riggable in all its flight parameters and ground handling.

The size and extreme bends for trim tabs often seen on homebuilts suggests this is a design function that would be desireable.

Some ideas:

Engine mount design so offsets are shimable.
Vertical tails made to be adjustable and added after construction of fuselage (to avoid builtin errors).
Easy methods of aligning the undercarriage wheel alignment.
