Here is my project. I'm currently slogging through all the detail design.

Mission: Transport an individual with some bags at decent speeds without using a lot of $$$$ for construction or operation....oh and FUN.:ban:

I am 6'02" and weigh 180 lbs. It is built around me. I have no plans to do anything with this other than build it and fly it for my own personal enjoyment. I am using CAD, CAM and CAE as much as possible, because that is what I do. When I get to the stage where I can email the .dxf files to a guy with a router I will. My very own quick build kit will then arrive on my doorstep.

Aluminum semi-monocoque construction
6061 T6 skins and bulkheads
2024 spar and shear web
pulled flush rivets (mostly)
1000 cc 2cyl industrial V type engine
custom airfoil based on the NACA240XX
Root MR313 13% thick .03 CL
Tip MR416 16% thick .04 CL
No geometric twist.
designed for +5 -2.5 7.5 ultimate.
Outer wing panels separate outboard of the gear.
Plain flaps and ailerons attached to the aft spar.

I'm not going to post any weights or performance numbers until I actually test the airplane so don't ask. Those of you that I want to hear from the most can already swag it pretty close.

The pics of the engine mock up are from back when I was going to use composite construction. I finally decided I didn't want the mess in my shop...so aluminum it is.
