hi

im looking at putting a deltahawk desil engine into an RV-7A does anyone no if this would work as i dont have dimentions for the aircraft cowlings so basicly

Deltahawk engines

1) will it fit?

if so

2) will it work as the powerplant for my aircraft?

It should fit and work fine assuming they start shipping in quantities.

Being a turbocharged engine it should provide you with plenty of power at altitude.

Cheaper yet would be using a rotary or some other auto engine and converting it to run on diesel / Jet fuel. You should get nearly the same BSFC as a compression ignition engine.

As they were known to sell for E-AB, their website had sketches for installation.
Email them for same. I'm sure by taking your $40K (or so), they would help you install it.

I dont believe they have actually ever sold an engine. They have had plenty of flying prototypes, but are wanting a big run. UAVs are what they are after now. The New owners might get something done as their main business is manufacturing.
