Critic my Spar idea, also help finding a source for the parts needed.

Hi All,

I have been thinking about building a Box Spar that is both Composite and Wood.

Here is is what I am considering that would like your feedback on. I was hoping to originally build a box spar made of all composite, but the cost and the weigh savings weren't all there by the time I made initial calculations, so I took up the idea to consider building a box spar made of square tubing made of CF and then added plywood mahogany or birch to the sides to make the box. I will add bulkheads throughout the spar to accommodate for fittings on the spar and to give it extra support thought.

Here is a very tough draft of the idea, I have not take measurements since I have to find the right tubbing for the job and then calculate the ply webbing need.

I'd like your inputs in this idea and also a good source for the square tubing in the EU if possible.

Thanks,
Jose
