OK all, I've been looking around for a decent 64-69 CorVair engine to rebuild for a plane project. I knew I needed the 164ci 95 or 110 model and that many of the engines have been trashed, but I didn't know how much they are worth.
Anyhow, I was on a call on Friday at a local salvage yard when I asked if they ever got any CorVair engines in. the response was sometimes, but we've got one now. The engine is complete and still on it's pan with the transmission and starter, they said $300.00. Is this a fair price for the correct engine?
I'm going back Monday in some old cloths to crawl over the engine and get all of the numbers off of it to confirm it's what I'm looking for. They did however
guarantee that the engine would be rebuildable or they'd return my money.
