Free admission is refreshing. But I don't see how they can do it. Hope it works.:)

I'm planing to go but there's a quilt show in Phoenix the weekend before that that my wife wants to go to. We can only go to one or the other (it's a 7 hour drive one way) If she uses her feminine wiles on me: ...it'll be the quit show.

Yes but how long does it take to fly there and back in any of the airplanes that are available to you?

We make a lot of stops and side trips (Pima air museum and every fabric store, quilt shop and arts and craft fair along the way). And my wife isn't going to fly cross country over the wilds of the Gila Wilderness in anything less than a Gulf Stream G650.

Let us know the outcome. I would like to meet you there but it is a long drive for me to0 but not as far as your drive.

VB - GA is dying and planes do not work. I am trying to fix that but it is an up hill battle. Car got a nail in the tire today. At least I do not need an A&P to fix it. On the other hand airplanes don't get nails in the tire very often. Roadable aircraft that is a different story. I would like to fix that too.

If Phoenix quilt show wins out perhaps your wife can drop you off in Tucson and we can hang out.

Utter nonsense. I fly to Phoenix all the time and pass right over Buckeye. It's a very convenient way to travel for me and my wife. Far, far better than anything else available.

7 hour drive vs 1.5 in the air... Gee, let me take a moment to think it over.

Been to both airports in Buckeye. Landed a glider at "Buckeye-Pierce" crop duster strip in a competition flying from Estrella, 1984 or 85. Landed a rare British Auster (Taylorcraft) at Buckeye Municipal for gas in July 1992.

Neither location will ever be featured in the "Top 10 Most Beautiful Places to Fly" calendar.

Sounds like a plan Jedi. I'll see what the wife decides.

Planning on being there with a few of our students from West-MEC and having a booth or table with our information to share with the public.

Would be great to see you guys there too.

If I make it to Copper State, I'll look for your table.

I plan to be there to gather some content for the launch of a podcast in March. I've never been to this event, but then the event has never been to Buckeye, so I guess it'll be new experiences all around.

We'll be there. No booth or ultralight, just my 2 sons and I.

Dang, too bad it is not the following weekend. I’ll be ferrying my plane back from Florida and my planned route takes me right by Buckeye. Unfortunately, the timeline puts me there the following Friday. If plans change drastically, I might make it for the Sunday but that is highly unlikely.

I understand that yesterday was a good day at Copper State with great weather and good attendance.

It was cold when I arrived at 8:00 this morning and it only got up to about 55 degrees today with cloudy skies. I had a handful of students at our booth in the exhibition hangar with no lights or heat but it was still a great time visiting with a few friends and making new ones and my students got to field questions about our program.

From what I can tell GA is not quiet dead yet and today gave me renewed hope. I got to witness a Rutan Vari-Viggen departing around 4:30..... when was the last time you have seen one of those?

Hire a "stunt double" to go to quilt show and fly to the airshow.

I wouldn't fly the wife XC over the wilds of the Gila Wilderness either. Gliding distance from I-10 all the way. I'm guessing 2/3 of I-10 has a landable dirt strip int he center too.

Flying IFR will also allow Fritz to repeatedly point out how much faster they're going than all those cars, and how much sooner they will get to the pool at the motel.
