Hi all,
When I have read in the past of factories converting fabric-covered aircraft to metal skins (metalizing), it got me to wondering if it would be possible to convert simple wooden designs to metal, such as a Jodel D9 or an Evans VP1 or 2. How realistic is this? I know nothing of structural design but I've often surmised that if you could manufacture a metal Jodel wing, such as on metal Robin aircraft, then a simple metal D9, along the lines of a CX4 or a Teenie two, would be possible, simple sheet metal structure, match hole tooled for Avex rivets with ribs made in the style of a Zenith 601 and a 582 for power.

regards
TDD
