I read a recent thread about this but wanted to ask a specific question on this topic.
If you buy an ultralight ready to fly, can you always register as an experimental plane or does some standard exist?
For example, the 51% rule or some other reason why some ultralights might be converted to experimental and others might not be?
I have an idea of the paperwork required for homebuilders to get the plane through the process, but would any other standards prevent someone from registering an ultralight as an experimental plane?
