Hello everyone,

I'm here to ask the experts a few questions about canard stalling and possible maneuvrers in a canard aircraft.

This is all for learning purposes as i can't wrap my head around certain canard caracteristics .

So first of all : I really like canard aircraft (something about the looks of these aircraft) and especially older models (XP-55, J7W, and other prototypes) so I would like to know more about the way they are designed and the restrictions imposed by this configuration.

I read the part about deep stalling in the Raptor thread and I also read the apollocanard website and from what I can understand the canard must always stall before the main wing.

But this raises a few question :

- Does this mean that the aircraft can't pull the nose past ~20° ? So in an extreme exemple : can you not do a loop in a canard ?
Since the canard stall first, as I understand it, the weight+lift of the main wing creates a downward pitch attitude. Is that correct ?

-Can you still deep stall the aircraft even if the CG is forward of the main wing lift ?

I also wanted to know what canard loading meant. Is it the amount of lift that the canard is required to output to balance the aircraft ?

These questions are probably dumb but I feel like I don't understand the way that canards work and all these questions are starting to bother me.
