What is the best type of welding for a Tube type structure? Gas or some form of electric (Ie: Tig, Mig etc) My old A&P airframe instructor who owned a tool company and restored a Stearman said the best was a gas system (acetylene and oxygen) for welding steel tubes. He said the tube structure would heat and cool gradually instead of an electrical type device. Is this true? What is the feeling out there?
