The Odyssey Battey SBSJ-16 FAA PMA is approved for several aircraft as an STC......A Minor alteration requires "acceptable data" not "approved data".....An STC is "approved data" .....an STC for a different model could be considered "acceptable data".....is it strictly the interpretation of the FAA inspector, A&P, or IA as to if a Minor alteration is legal? Another kink....why not install an STC battery in the approved aircraft as a Minor alteration and not buy the STC. ....
