After doing a bit of reading, and contacting several oil companies, the decision has been made to go with Shell Rotella T Synthetic Oil. It is an ashless dispersant oil, very similar to the Aeroshell line of aviation oils.

There were two major oil companies that stated their synthetic oil was fully compatible with 100LL Avgas...when run in an automobile engine.

I know a number of you have run, or are currently running a synthetic oil without any issues.
