Last minute trip to Vegas this week for the SEMA show (Like Oshkosh for car guys). This is what pays for my airplane habit.

Had hoped to see Nellis AFB but looks like 30 day advanced planning needed for any kind of tour.

Anything else (Aviation) in the area worth checking out, maybe 100 mile radius?

    Thanks!

If you find something, tell me! I'm temporarily (actually indefinitely) stuck here. Rode the motorbike out to Boulder City airport this morning - typically, it's fenced off, no way in or out for any member of the public. This is an uncontrolled field too. I don't really get how a public airport gets to keep the public out.

I hope to attend an EAA chapter meeting at Henderson airport next month and see what the state of experimental aviation is like here.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Shirley, you must realize that the fence, placed there with your tax dollare, is there to prevent a terrorist attack on the big white house in the district of columbia.

Aviation thing near Las Vegas...I dunno, there's that whole "Flying over the Grand Canyon" thing, if you can call that aviation related.

Call up the Shelby museum and get in on a guided tour. It's a good story even if you don't like cars. Not at all aviation related, but it's better than walking up and down the strip again.

It's not aviation related, but if you've never taken a tour of Hoover Dam, you should.
An amazing piece of engineering an workmanship.

Reno air races are all I can think of off the top of my head

Frankly I hate Vegas. Been going there for years on business trips. But then I'm not a gambler, so..........
