Hello, all, I just found this forum and joined, so I guess it's time to introduce myself.
My name is Rod Schneider and I live in Ball Ground, GA, which is about 40 miles north of Atlanta. I've been building a Vans RV-6 that I started in 1998. It is powered by an Eggenfellner Subaru H6 engine. The plane has been moved to the airport, Cherokee County (KCNI), and is about ready for a DAR to come and take a look at it.
I retired last summer from Delta Air Lines after a 33 year career in maintenance, all of it spent in the hangar at their main base in Atlanta. Now I have more time to devote to the "fun" side of aviation. I volunteer with the Liberty Foundation, www.libertyfoundation.org, and help them take care of their B-17, "the movie Memphis Belle", which is spending it's winter maintenance up here at Cherokee. I have a love of WWII airplanes and enjoy being able to tinker with them.
