There was a 1/2 Corvair at OSH one year. Can't remember the year, but they used one side for a 3 cylinder engine.

    Don't think so :)

One side of the engine for a 3 cylinder upright inline.

You guys wind up in the weeds faster than me teeing off on the first green. (I have never played golf, so just imagine how fast that would be!).

No, half a Corvair would be two cylinders one side, one cylinder the opposite side.
After all, boxer engines are the big thing in light aircraft aviation!:gig:

I think this thread needs to be closed. If someone has a concern they will just have to start a new thread, but keeping this thing alive just to do it, is getting silly. Its still searchable, so nothing inside is lost.

Actually I think this thread worked out pretty well. It started as an attempt to either forewarn people of an alleged shyster or to just be vindictive, and ended up being a forum
for explanation and purging allegations. Anyone reading it can see both sides and make a decision on what they want to believe. In any case its better
than always hearing rumors and murmers.............

I do not disagree that it informed the people who read it. Some silly thread drift is fine, but sometimes these type of threads become chat rooms once the meat is over. If information does change, someone will tell us about it; there is a start thread button, but having it open just so someone who got their first computer yesterday found the thread and has to add 2 cents just to start the fire all over again is a little tiring.

Just goes to show IMO. how silly the OP was. I'm like TFF: Rather see the post go bye, bye, but as many have said it is a eye opener in any format. Alerts can be good or bad, it's in the mind of the reader! And being's this post is here and the origainal poster isn't talking much, we might as well talk about something and have fun. :) and most of all the OP was an Alert on Azalea LLC and Bill Clapp, I think its only fair that the tide turns and the forum be allowed to voice there views on the OP placer.........By the way isn't this strong wind were having a pain? cropduster crash.jpg

Often one party starts a war and someone else finishes it. Just deserts for the OP who lacked the vision to see where a toxic post like this might end up...

This is why we're told to play nice, respect, try to be tolerant and forgive in life and on internet forums. Hate just eats you up as they say.

On a possibly related issue (or not): I have worked with people who's private personalities and their relationships with others are so tightly interwoven with what they do for a living that they are, in effect, one. If someone else differs with how they do some aspect of their work, it becomes personal immediately. Working with these people is a challenge, they live in a very polarized existence of "us" vs. "them" tribes. Sadly, it ultimately results in their work, the thing they care about most, suffering because others won't exchange ideas with them after being roasted once or twice. Nobody has all the answers, after all.
It can be a tough line to tread. Most of us take pride in what we do, but . . .well, "it" isn't "us." I hope.

At the risk of perpetuating the thread drift... I never heard of the 3 cylinder inline Pops mentioned. Must have some funny vibrations if the stock crank was used. There have been a few 2 cylinder 1/3 Corvairs, but parts availability and cost and the smaller displacement make them less attractive than half VW engines. There has been some discussion on it here in the past.

Interestingly, the OP made no "personal" comments in this thread and the factual nature of the information contained in post #1 has not been called into question in six pages of discussion.

Thats what kinda get's me, OP made no "personal" comments, Sounded like WW was posting a warning that was personal to him and others. Also basically added some back up to his claim. I guess we are all human and make mistakes. Lets just hope the mistake is not discovered at around 500 ft. AGL.;) Off topic- UK SIMPER FI our thoughts are with you
