What part of the country?
No problem with it for sale here.
The Champ is quite a bit less demanding to restore compared to a Piper J-3,
Yeah, but you need a carpenter for the Champ. It about the parts count. The Champ was designed production.
Completely agree. Its a soulful rag and tube airplane that can be aquired and maintained by the average joe for a reasonable cost.
Oh, and unlike 90% of the content on this "homebuilt" site lately, it ACTUALLY EXISTS!
Indeed, every cable/mechanical brakes I've flown I always wanted to convert to hydraulic brakes.A 7AC was my first airplane, it is a honest little plane. Hand prop, heel brakes, stick control, brakes are cable controlled (stock) and I had to re-adjust them after nearly every flight with my instructor (he used them a lot) but I could get several flights between adjustments solo and after getting better with the plane. I always wanted to convert to hydraulic brakes.
All the Champs that I flew would turn, on the ground, fairly good in one direction.Indeed, every cable/mechanical brakes I've flown I always wanted to convert to hydraulic brakes.
