A production derivative of the Sandlin designs...powered.

Zigolo MG « Aeromarine LSA

I'd certainly like to see more load testing data than the one pic on the website, but price seems good...complete with motor under 15K. Haven't priced materials to construct and attempt to power a Mike Sandlin design, so I'm unsure if an individual would do it much cheaper.

I'd be interested in the upcoming electric version...at a currently advertised 225 lbs with parachute (254 + 24 allowed)...subtract gas engine and tank, it may be the first viable electric ultralight to stay under weight limit with batteries. With the soaring wing, it won't be too bad it there's only 30-40 mins, or whatever they come up with, duration on the electric motor.

Now, when do we start seeing the aftermarket mods? If I owned one, I'd like to have at least a superfloater-like girdle of tubing "enclosing" the cockpit...a psych hangup.

Second hypothetical mod - clipped wings, and requisite shorter lift struts. Perhaps saving a few pounds for extra battery cells...making a full time powered ultralight and eliminating motor glider status. Possibly going from 36.5 feet to something in the high twenties would still meet max speed and stall requirements.

Daydreaming...

...Hope Mike Sandlin is flattered...imitation is the sincerest form, or so they say.
