Been watching youtube vids of an AV-36 doing loops.

Which got me pondering a variation on Pelican/Vampyr.

The Pelican was designed to be low cost/low HP. 5g/2.5g. But it doesn't have to be.

What if?

1) Go with a thinner wing section, Graphlite Marske type spar 9g/4.5g
2) Since fuel consumption isn't an issue, go with one of the RC giant scale radials, I believe there is one that weighs 22lbs and produces 25HP.
3) Since flight envelope is not that broad, ducting the prop should be possible without losing too much efficiency.
a) This should reduce prop strike odds.
b) Increase thrust
c) Allow thrust vectoring perhaps?

Could be a fun little plane.

Any thoughts?
