I'm wondering why nobody (except Jim Bede) tried to make a supersonic homebuilt. With a cruise of Mach 1.6 or so stagnation temperature is only about 50 degrees C. The new small jet engines are both efficient and proven, sound is minor with a very slender and small craft. Also fuel consumption will be significant, but especially a delta shouldn't have problems storing 50% mass of fuel or so. Overall problems seem to be reasonable solvable. Still, I can't find anyone but Bede who designed a small supersonic cruising jet.

Any problems I overlooked?
