My hopes for a twin ducted fan have crashed and burned. (Hats off to "Malish" for his accomplishment)
Hopeful that a simpler single fan concept will ease the technical and cost issues a bit.
Here goes:
Basically a twin boom pusher with an integral duct. Shooting for under 1500 pounds empty/2000 gross weight.
Shown with standard 4 cylinder powerplant but 6 cylinder possible. (180-260HP)
Controllable prop depending on engine choice.
Retract gear in layout. Could go either way. Nice to have option available already designed in.
Conventional aluminum spar/rib/skin flying surfaces.
4130 welded cage fuselage/center section/booms with composite skins like Glastar.
BRS designed in (Would not fly without one)
Speedbrakes (Why not, there was room)
There you have it. FANDANGO. Won't be fast, but it will be cool!
