    Hello All,
I am looking to buy an Experimental air-frame minus the engine and prop. I would like to find one that has previously flown and needs an engine and prop Or very close to completion. I have a complete Aerostar 600 that I am parting out. I will consider most anything except one off original designs that have not flown. I will pay a fair price and will also pick up the project, I have my own transportation. Call me if you like to discuss. Swaid Rahn, nine one two, six five five, 0^9^6^6. Thanks.

You are looking for either a Velocity XL, some of the Lancair models, RV Rocket, or a Glassair.
Not sure of any others that meet the criteria.

An RV-10 would fit the bill.

Personally I would pick up a Skybolt. Most 540 planes covered. I guess if speed is what you want talk someone out of a Questair. Hot Rod Bearhawk.

It is a one off, but please consider Gumbo. It’s not flown, but I’d really like to see it fly. It’s optimised for more hp but I reckon it would still do nicely on 600hp. It was being sold without engines...

You might buy the Stallion prototype and remove and resell its IO-550 and prop. It certainly has flown and in fairly good (hangared) shape. If interested, I can put you in contact with Rita Costa Hollmann, Martin’s widow.

Most of the suggestions would work. The main objective is to purchase a previously flying home-built minus the engine and prop so I can install mine. I am not looking for a keeper but something that has a resell market. I am familiar with all the above aircraft but the one off twin named Gumbo. Gumbo does interest me as a Sport Class Racer at Reno but you have to be under 1000 cubic inches. (class rules)
I would be interested in a Skybolt, Starduster, Bearhawk, Bushmaster, Compair 6 or 7, Acorduster, Pitts S2E, Stallion, Velocity XL, Team Tango, Lancair 4 -legacy-ES, Glasair 3, SX300, Questair, Berkut, Wheeler Express, Murphy, Private Explorer, Barr 6, Baracuda, Laser 2300, Ultimate, Spitfire, Jurca Mustang, RV-10, CA6, Sport Racer, Radial Rocket, Prescott Pusher, Nemesis NXT, Marquart Charger, Harmon Rocker, F1 Rocket, SAL P51D, Cyclone, VK-30, Aventura II, Blanton V6, Staduacher, Plus many others I have not listed.
If anyone knows of an aircraft that is for sale that can handle the engine weight of a Lyc 540, please contact me.
    Thank you forum members!

Swaid, perhaps you could contact Peter Muller from Raptor and negotiate to fit one of your engines into his Raptor. If you’ve been following the Raptor thread on this forum, you will see that the Audi engine is a cause of major concern to knowledgeable folks on this forum. You’ve got (2x) proven 300hp engines; perhaps you could make a deal with Peter to use one of your proven engines in return for ???

Was a 540 ever stuffed into a Chipmunk? One local here for sale. Already had a Lyc in it, the Gypsy is long gone, assume a better start with engine mount, cowling, etc.

Yes. Turns it into a real airplane. An HBAer has one, IIRC.
