I need 4 Douglas Fir longerons 3/4x3/4x14' in size. What is the best way to join 2 pieces to achieve 14' lenght? How dry should would be to reduce shinking over time? I found a few quality boards at my local lumber supplier but I think they are not sufficiently dried. And what American equivalent of plywood thicknes would be for: 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm, 5mm? I am a novice to airplane construction so please don't be to rough with me. Thanks.
