Maybe I'm crazy but I think a 1/2 VW twin would be a fun project. My first thought would be to look at modifying the thatcher cx7 plans (after they are for sale) to have 2 45hp 1/2 vw's hanging off the wings, probably do a fastback mod, and give it a bigger sexier tail (maybe Beechcraft Baron-ish). It for sure wouldn't be fast with all that extra drag, but a little fun twin that only burns 5gal an hour just sounds sweet to me.
