Hi I'm new ere and to project planes, but not to building other things.

I want to build this from the ground up as a prototype design I have, but while I wait on my Raymer's book to be delivered . I have some questions I'd like answered:

1: To lift a combined weight(frame, engine, fuel, pilot, wheels, and all included devices)1,000lb how long would the wings need to be,indivually

2.) what size engine would be best,HP wise

3.) Is the ideal of wings that fold up into the planes' body a practical idea or more of a fictional idea?
