    I exaggerate a little. A prominent SoCal ritual of growing-up is to go to the beach in the morning and skiing/snowboarding in the afternoon of the same day, or vice versa. Snow is fine. But we don't live in the stuff!

    Pfft. Here in Michigan +45F is where I finally put on long pants. This winter it hit -20F for like a week. When a good wind hits you your eye moisture can flash-freeze for a split second until the next blink.

    You know they have this thing called "U - haul"... They rent big trucks so you can move to someplace where your eyes dont freeze between blinks.

    True, but there's this thing called "money" which is apparently important for some reason.
    Also, the cold kills off all the nasty bugs and puts snakes out of commission for a few months.
    Imagine being in the wilderness and having no fear of being bitten or stung by anything no matter what you stick your hand into. Bears are hibernating so you're pretty much clear.
