I have had the Kimbrel plans for the Bathtub for 25 plus years and after having considered many designs to build, my heart goes back to this one. I am now retired and have some time, resources and a very understanding wife...most of the elements necessary for a successful build, I think. My problem is the plans call for a one piece wing and I just don't have the available space to build that. Plus, ideally, I would like detachable wings (or fold-able) so the plane could be trailer transported.

I wonder how difficult it would be to modify wings from a Hi-Max (or similar?) to work on the Tub? The total wingspan is only a foot difference (Hi-Max 25' vs Tub 24'). I assume that the airfoil is different, but perhaps workable? I haven't measured cabin width yet, but assume that the Max is wider than the Tub. Finding a wing solution would be the final push to being able to commit to the Tub. Any input or advice will be greatly appreciated.
