    Craigslist

There's a bunch of stuff applicable to homebuilt aviation on my local Craigslist that stretches roughly a 500 mile radius. I thought I'd start this thread because I ran into a couple of interesting things this morning that may be worth the money.

I like the Aviation on the for sale list and I believe that is new to Craigslist. Great place for RC gear.

Didn't someone try to start a thread like this a couple of years ago? Sorta died out, I guess.

    Re: Craigslist

I scan the CL listings daily, mostly looking at motorcycle and classic car ads. In the last couple of years I have found a Global 1/2 VW, and several Revmaster engines mixed in with vw parts. One Revmaster was never run and still bolted to its original shipping skid for an asking price of $2000

Yes there is already a craigs list thread. But lets start another. I got my butt chewed for starting a new thread when there was already a thread going for the subject I was speaking about. But I see not all rules apply to everyone on this forum.

    Re: Craigslist

There are Craigslist and eBay threads on HBA that have been very popular as far as I know. Is there a logical reason to start another one?

    Re: Craigslist

At least half of these duplicate threads are thanks to the lousy search function. I just search in google now foo inurl:www.homebuiltairplanes.com and get results this site can't find. "foo" is your search term.

    Re: Craigslist

There is a site called searchtempest.com

    Link: https://www.searchtempest.com/

I use it, but try to stay off of it because my thin wallet can't handle another hammering.

All of craigslist, eBay & more in one search.

    Re: Craigslist

Why do we have a lousy search function on this website, btw? I have used it to try and search for a thread I know for sure I posted in, and the results came back empty. I have no idea if an embedded search engine costs extra money, or takes up a whole lot of programming time, etc.

Are you using the "google custom search" or the advanced search?

The forum's search feature works pretty well, but not the default Google one. The site's good search feature is at:

typical Craigslist scam. That plane is for sale on ebay right now for $28k and it's located in PA. I'm sure there is a sob story where they can only accept a cash type payment before you ever see the plane.
