    Milling machine/lathe options

Another vote for Precision Matthews. I’m about ready to pull the trigger on a PM -25MV bench mill. I’ve been watching “Blondie Hacks” on the YouTube. A warning though, you'll need to spend at least another $1000 on stuff to be able to use it. Vice, clamp kit, collets, drill chuck, indicators...

    USUA Membership

As far as I know with USUA you get a magazine and the option to buy liability coverage for your ultralight for “only” $800ish dollars a year. Had never even heard of EAA Ultralight registration. Not sure that gets you anything at all.

Parts For Sale 100 horsepower WW Fly Corvair zero time engine with log books - never mounted

I’m not Geno or Dale but I just sold my “engine kit of parts” so at one time I was knee deep in the minutiae. I think Geno wants to let the next owner buy the $2200 5th bearing. You are absolutely correct the 5th bearing is a must have. There is a version that is field installable. Dan provides...

Cloud Dancer 67% Curtiss Jenny Part 103 Ultralight in the house.

This was on Barnstormers not long ago. I’m hoping he will start building these. By the time I need one the issue of actual power/reliability will hopefully be answered. Unfortunately I can’t get the photos to copy/paste so only one blurry image. SUPERTHUMPER 4STROKE UL ENGINE • $2,850 • NEW...

    Sandlin Gliders: Builds, mods, flights

When I ordered the aluminum tubing for the Skylite from Wicks it arrived in a “TW Metals” box. Wicks may have had it drop shipped directly from them. It looks like they “may” sell retail. They are a large company with many locations. It looks like the closest one to UT is Phoenix.

Tractor engine legal UL with easy folding wings?

“But I don't see an issue with an ultralight a tad heavy.” Never heard of it happening but in Part103 it has a $1000 per occurrence fine for operating an aircraft that doesn’t meet Part 103.

Hogs in the Sand: A Gulf War A-10 Pilot's Combat Journal Buck Wyndham Very entertaining! Highly recommended. There are three books in this series. I think they are “young adult”. Creating an itty-bitty Stearman

“We all missed out by not having the original Pitts version plans. Of course, we do have the Lil Bitts from Ed Fisher, which I'd bet is a very fine machine begging for a good 4 stroke option.” Ok I sound like a broken record WRT the verners but the smaller 5 cyl verner just about makes the 150...

Has anyone used to the Uavionix Echo to supply rs232 altitude data to both the Transponder and the ADSB?

Doesn’t look like it will work that way. The echo UAT still needs pressure ALT from an encoder. They Sell a “echo mux“ cable to use with a GTX327. It looks like the cable just adds the serial alt encoder data to both the 327 and the echo ADSB. https://uavionix.com/product/echomux/
