    Private or Personal Strip

Thanks for a reply. I agree with all you have said. I guess you can't help/hope but think some will overlook a situation unless asked. I do plan on keeping everything current as I enjoy my friends at the airport and plan on visiting them a lot. I just don't want to drive an hour each way to see...

    Private or Personal Strip

I'm not sure where to ask this. I figure some of you have had or know of this problem. I have decided to go with a STOL Zenith 701 as it seems to be what fits for my sitution. I have limited room but have checked with the manufacturer and pilots who have the plane and have been told I do have...

Sun & Fun , just half?

Thinking about driving down on the 31st after my son finishes a school project that is really important. Would it be worth the time at that point to drag the family that far? I really want to go and check it out. My son who's twelve years old and is really starting to like aviation I think it...

    Class III medical

I have asked myself as I have a cdl license, doesn't make sense that you could drive a truck weighing eighty thousand pounds loaded with gasoline through the middle of Los Angelos and not be able to fly a single engine plane . I never hauled gas but i have driven through Los Angelos weighing...

    Class III medical

Titanium Cranium, i am in training for my ppl and I had a heart attack three years ago. Doctors said no damage and a stint was placed . Since then I have done fine ,changed my diet ,exercise regularly, and closed down a stressful business (at least for me) . I spoke with several local pilots all...

    STOL 801

I looked at it again yesterday evening and yes it does look like Courchevel. Without a STOL plane I don't see it working and even then????? I will take a look at the forum You linked and hopefully find someone there who has the experience and is willing to take a look. I appreciate all of you...

    STOL 801

Never knew about the 3d , very nice . 36* 30' 11" N. 81* 6' 1" w. Takeoff would be s s/w . The problem is the runway needs to go right through the middle of where I wanted to build a house . I have ordered a pocket level to check the slope, it should be here tomorrow or friday .

    STOL 801

Tom thanks for your reply. I have googled it before and it doesn't help as the perspective just isn't there. I will post a picture of a side view if I can take one that shows what is needed. Thanks again.

    STOL 801

Good question, i don't know the exact degree of slope but I think it will work in my favor both on take off and landing. If it's not raining to bad I'll try and get the info tomorrow. I will try and use a sight level to figure out the degree of slope. To my inexperienced eye it looks like I have...

    STOL 801

I forgot to mention that if not for the wife and kids I would go with something different in a plane choice . I know speed and manueverability change greatly depending on the plane and the 801 seems to be closer in doing all that I need. Would anyone here who owns an 801 care to chat a little...

    STOL 801

Thanks for the replies. I haven't measured the length of the potential runway yet. I will do that as soon as possible' I think it is close to eight hundred usable feet but am not sure. Takeoff would be to the s/sw and landing to the n/ne, the s/sw takeoff would be downhill with a power line and...

    STOL 801

Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I'd like to say thanks for the forum. I am in training as we speak for my private pilots license and my goal is to have a plane I can take off and land and keep on my property as it is at least a forty five minute drive to the closest...
