Plans for Rocky Mountain Wings "Ridge Runner" UL/LSA Aircraft

I just bumped into this thread. For those still looking for information on Ridge Runners and SkyRaiders, there's now a RidgeRunner SkyRaider group on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/521737338599210/. You have to go on FaceBook and join the group, but there's a pile of information...

HBA would be a better place if...

I appreciate the focus of HBA. If I want to read about tracked vehicles, I bet there's a forum for it somewhere on the WWWeb; that's the place I'd go for that discussion... not HBA. I enjoy some of the thread drift in HBA, but I primarily come here to learn about aircraft building and...

    Add-on GPS for Foreflight/iPad?

All my experience with iFlyGPS has been at the desk, thus far, just getting used to the interface. I plan to use it with a Garmin GLO GPS in the truck to see how the moving map works. What I see to date is that it does have Nearest Airport, but not the final glide ring. It doesn't have W&B, yet.

    Add-on GPS for Foreflight/iPad?

One software alternative I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is iFlyGPS (www.iflygps.com). It's a FF/WingX/Garmin competitor that works on iPad, Android and Windows. I'm a new user, but, so far, I like it.

how is double ender going now?

The marketplace does a pretty good job of determining value, or at least commercial value. A few people or operations of some sort would probably love to buy one or more Double-enders, just as a few would love to have a Mike Patey Scrappy. Is there enough interest to make them commercially...

Another affordable avionic - iLevil AP

My dual-iPad Mini installation has the screens mounted in front of the panel in RAM EZ-Roll’r cradles. PC-type pancake fans blow air onto the backs of the iPads. They're shaded by the glareshield, and the sunroof is tinted with UV-protectant film. The system isn't flight-tested, yet, but the...

Another affordable avionic - iLevil AP

I haven't done any programming for decades, so the do-it-myself autopilot systems don't hold much appeal for me. I've put in my order for the Levil AP (https://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forums/threads/another-affordable-avionic-ilevil-ap). It appears to be an outgrowth of work the company did...

    Ebay Today

Yes, ownership determines what's "right". The plane was the owner's property to do with as he chose. The fact that someone else covets his property doesn't give them any rights over it. If someone desperately wanted to rehabilitate that particular plane, I suspect they could negotiate a price...

How do you connect the edges of fabric cover to windows?

I think that's the nicest system I've seen. I tried to use a similar window seal from McMaster-Carr, but it was too bulky and bulbous, so I went the riveted route. If I'd known about the RW-59 window seal, I'd have tried it. I just checked to see if I could cut my existing panels back to the...

How do you connect the edges of fabric cover to windows?

Yes, that's pretty much what I did. My window panels are Lexan, so rivets are fine. If you use acrylic (Plexiglass) instead, you might consider using 6-32 truss-head screws; tighten them just enough to hold the window in place without any deformation of the acrylic.
