    Ducting, would my idea work?

So we see a lot of drone looking things hooked to airplanes these days. It’s like we have human flying drones. We have airplanes and we have guys strapping one to the other. And the integration is ugly. Looking like a school kid made it for a science fair. Anyway. Eventually someone will...

Aluminum Tube & Gusset Airbike / Legal Eagle / Parasol Thread

I always wanted to do an aluminum tube minimax. Just replace the wood with aluminum tube

    Russian carbon-tube ultralights- "Pchelka"

This thing was at Oshkosh like 1985? It was really really fast, It’s a lot smaller than the pachelka. Smallest plane probably ever built, although there were stitts had one that was smaller in square feet

Starlite plans, VariEze or LongEze plans

A friend of a friend just died in a starlite They are beautiful little planes, but it was a spar failure :( I’d suggest you look at the howland Pegasus instead. No wing failures on that. Very similar. Of course, not in production anymore.

    Flaglor Scooter plans

Sounds like me and one other guy are the only guys in the room to have flown a scooter. There are pics on here of the one I resorted. Luckily all that extra wood saved my life. She ended up in a pile of splinters when density altitude taught me a lesson. She was very heavy and pretty scary...

UL First Flight .....Not Enough Rudder Authority or Just Bad Gear

Yeah you were foreward and backward on the stick. Not sure what was going on there. A buddy built an aerodrome biplane. They are big planes and it had a tiny rudder. I remember him changing the angle of the tail wheel and that made it more controllable. But sorry bro, that was your handling...

    Wing attach taper pins?

Trying to figure out what to order to attatch my wings. The builder of my plane said he used bolts instead of taper pins to attach the wings since he didn’t do the folding wing. Have any of you guys heard of using bolts? What size bolt is it if you do? They were missing when I got the...

    Covered over rivets

Just curious how many of you guys have used body filler over your wing rivets. The previous owner of my plane slapped a bunch on, it’s pretty ugly. He claimed it was to cover up the rivets but I suspect it was because the ribs were low on the spar. The wing bottoms look really good with no...

    Fabric riveted?

What did the rivets go into? The actual tail tubes? Tabs? My concern would be weakening the tail. That and competing metals. I mean why not just rub stitch? Lighter, cheaper. I mean the fabric is not coming off with modern materials.

    Fabric riveted?

Have any of you ever seen a sonerai 2 with riveted (or possibly PK screwed) on fabric on the horizontal stabilizer? I’ll be recovering the tail on my new plane anyhow. But I thought it was to be rib stitched. I’m concerned that whoever put the new fabric on the tail must have drilled...

    Wingtips

I’ll get a hold of you guys after I pick up my plane in the next two weeks. I do need them and appreciate you offering. But right now the pressing issue is taking possession of my sweet new little widow maker a speed deamon. I was a little ahead of myself on worrying about wing tips. But I...

    Wingtips

Sorry if I’m posting in the wrong place here, new member. i just picked up a sonerai 2L. She’s going to need a little love before I try flying her. Little fabric work. And an overall going through on hardware and rigging and such. She has no wing tips. Just a butt ending. wondering if...

    Exhaust attatchment

Hey guys, I'm building a skyraider 1 and need some advice on how to attatch the exhaust to the fuselage. I know one end goes onto the front landing gear bracket. That attaches to a steel ring. Where I need help figuring out is how the top connector connects to the fuselage? Does anyone have...

    autogyro blade design question Stauffer?

Aircar sorry for the late reply, the staufer gyro supposedly had an airfoil that once airborne would lock and fly as a fixed wing. Supposedly the airfoil was one that didn't need to flip because as a fixed wing it worked same as it did as a gyro, IE the wing created lift regardless of which...
