    FalconView and FAA Provided Charts

Hi Everyone, I just thought I would pass on something I found yesterday and played with a little while. If anyone has more experience with this I would welcome the input. For a while I have been looking for an alternative to a dedicated aviation GPS. The requirements are: 1) Must be able to use...

    Brake Linings

So...I am doing a bunch of maintenance on the Davis, and while I had the wheels off, I looked at the brake linings. They will probably be fine for another year, but since I have it all appart I figured "why not". After doing a quick google search, it appears that to replace linings, one needs...

    64" IVO Prop

I have a complete 64" IVO 2-blade prop for 100HP engines. The prop includes the hub, spinner, and all nuts/bolts. It could use some new bushings, but the old ones will come with it. I am reducing the asking price to $300, but will take the best offer.

    5-place???

I would be interested in knowing of any 4-place (experimental or certified) that lends itself well to being a 5-place with an extra seat or even just 3 seatbelts in the back. Basically I have a really tiny wife, and 2 (soon to be 3) tiny little girls, but I want to be able to take them all on...

Naive Prop Questions (effects of prop length)

I currently have a composite prop that I am not very fond of, and I want to switch to a wood prop. The composit is 64" long, and I estimate about 48" pitch (it is an adjustable prop). I have access to a 60"x60" wood prop. This would give me some much desired extra ground clearance (the 64"...

    A75 vs O200 Crush Plate

Anyone know if the prop crush plate from an A75 engine will mount to an O-200? I don't know anything about A75's, but if there is a possibility, I may have access to one that would save me some money overall. Thanks

    Altimeter Encoder Oddities

Hi all, After I purchased my Davis back in August, I immediately got the transponder check done. As part of that, we went above and beyond the normal check to also check the static system to make sure things were behaving correctly. At the time, the altitude read from the encoder on the guys...

Automotive Spark Plugs on Slick Mags

Hi Everyone, I have been looking into switching to automotive plugs in my o-200. Most implementation require that you replace the entire plug wire fromt he mag up to the plug. Is there any reason one could not simply attach the appropriate end to the existing plug wire from the slick mag to...

Cracked spark plug...stops mag output totally?

Hi Everyone, I had an interesting problem in flight this last weekend and the "resolution" has me someone confused. I am running an o-200 with slick mags. While flying, shortly after leveling off, the tach started acting goofy and an occasional right mag LED blink. Note that the mags checked...

    Interesting Add-ons

Hi Everyone, I was wondering...what is the most unique/useful/innovative/creative add-on you have ever seen/done on an experimental aircraft? Repainting N-Numbers

Hi All, I am considering repainting the N-numbers on a Davis DA2A. Currently the numbers are very large on the side of the plane. The top of the plane has flat sides as well and I believe would support the required number size. My question is, could I legally put the numbers up there instead...
