    64" IVO Prop

Yes. Do you have any questions?

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Leon Davis was an old machist, who thought that airplanes should be able to be built in an average garage with average tools. Everything in the design, including the v-tail combiner is amazingly simple. A couple of things people have done were to replace the front donuts with a motorcycle...

    A serious warning for builders!

The funny thing about all of this is that China usually does a pretty good job of making things to specifications. A lot of the stuff we use is actually designed by some company here in the states, and simply made in china...to the specs designed. Unfortunately it appears those same companies...

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

The wheel pants may have cost 1or 2mph, but nothing significant. A buddy of mine had a high pitch 63" Rhem prop that he just gave me. It is far from ideal, but performs at least as well as the IVO, so for the price, I won't complain :)

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Here are a couple of youtube videos I made in the Davis. Sorry, but neither have good audio...I am working on that problem, and will have new videos posted as soon as I get some quality issues worked out: This video was with one of my mother-in-laws friends that came over from Russia. Both...

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Here are some more pictures from last years Copperstate that somone nabbed of the plane while it was at our booth. Please note that I no longer have the composit prop (went wood instead...I hated that IVO prop with a passion). The wheel pants are gone (it took half an hour per wheel to check the...

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

For those of you interested, I could not figure out how to save this picture, but someone took it of my daughter and I flying in to Copperstate last year...notice if you look really close you can see the pig-tails at the bottom of the window :D All sizes | Davis DA-2A N588B | Flickr - Photo...

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Not sure what you are asking, but yes, the 2 elevons are mounted on hinges at the base and the whole thing moves.

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Wow...ask and ye shall recieve! Thanks Auto! Define decent...yes, it will glide like any other plane. Someone once told me that the old story (and I probably have it wrong, but I will give it a shot anyway) about keeping a goos and a duck in the plane at all times. The goose is if you get lost...

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Re: Photos From the Copperstate Fly-In How does one go about pulling out part of a thread and creating a new one? Do we have to cut and paste everything individually?

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Re: Photos From the Copperstate Fly-In Nope...no fistailing, no "Bonanza wobble" nothing like that. The only thing is that with the short wings, it drops like a rock when you cut power, and stalls tend to be a little more abrubt than in a 172 (and tend to break to the right, even if...

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Re: Photos From the Copperstate Fly-In I may just do that Bill. There is starting to be a lot of pictures and videos floating around the internet for N588B. One thing that has kept me from going further is the lack of audio in my videos. I apparently have some grounding ghosts in the audio out...

    Teknosmurf's Davis DA2

Re: Photos From the Copperstate Fly-In My Davis definitely attracts a lot of attention. Most people think the design is cool/interesting...regardless of if they like it or not. It is definitely a fun little plane to fly. It would perform a little better if I had a more suitable prop on there...

    Copperstate Fly-In, Casa Grande, Arizona

Hey guys, sorry I was out of touch for a while before the show...it was pretty hectic the few days prior as we were trying to get the finishing touches on everything! Copperstate was a blast, the Alcohol Separation System was a big hit, and we met all of our goals for the show. Hopefully we...

    FalconView and FAA Provided Charts

Hi Everyone, I just thought I would pass on something I found yesterday and played with a little while. If anyone has more experience with this I would welcome the input. For a while I have been looking for an alternative to a dedicated aviation GPS. The requirements are: 1) Must be able to use...
