    O-100-- interesting new engine

Thankfully we do not need to go to Japan to get the HentA1.

The Ranger, an easily built high wing LSA runabout

FritzW, Just slogged through the full thread. It looks like I missed nearly all of early April when the preliminary tail feather details where being posted. (are not finalized yet, which is something I wanted to know) My post was addressed in public, to everyone that may be...

The Ranger, an easily built high wing LSA runabout

Any chance of an answer? I have been gathering the posted CNC files in hopes to study the design and eventually build next year. Volksplane plans are $40-$70. The 1700 Hi-Max plans are $100. Using others' IPs negates the Open Source claim for the Ranger, right?

The Ranger, an easily built high wing LSA runabout

Will the builder be required to buy Volksplane VP-1 plans from Evans Aircraft in order to build the Rangers' Rudder and Stabilator? Likewise - TEAM Mini-Max for the building of the (Heavily Modified) wings?

The Ranger, an easily built high wing LSA runabout

40 Pages in for this Post: Can we get a basic summery of what has been completed in the design for The Ranger so far? It seems some people are constructing parts already? I believe the wings are already set in stone, modified Minimax? The Fuselage/Empennage finalized as well? Fritz, will you...

2" BASIC ULTRALIGHT WING CONSTRUTION ??'S

The OP wants suggestions for designing a cloud dancer-like winged aircraft using tube ladder construction with struts. It appears the Cloud Dancer used a wood main spar though? Also: Bolted Aluminum Tube Construction for Minimum Airplanes by Ben Syson

2" BASIC ULTRALIGHT WING CONSTRUTION ??'S

The Cloud Dancer was an ultralight Motorglider with a span of 40 feet. A 30 foot wing will be stronger with the same wall thickness. Are you absolutely set on a low wing UL? They are usually harder to maintain and less forgiving on rough terrain. I would suggest forgoing .125 for a more...

    German flying wing

You aren't wrong Aerowerx- You aren't wrong. I wonder if removing the pilot seat, placing it as a single occupant to the rear, truncating the nose to the leading edge of the strakes, adopting the Horten airfoil/wing would make a viable moldless HX2 homebuilt? Aerodynamics and Weight permitting.

    German flying wing

Huh. It's a LongEZ without the canard. I am speculating that it has uncoupled/independent rudders. Pitch controlled primarily through synced flaperons and throttle? Full length fences even over the ailerons.. Anyone with enough experience explain why the balancing weights have to be external...

    German flying wing

I wonder if Bill Moyes was involved, I know several Norten HX series have been built as gliders but it looks like Horten finally built-up the motorized HXc and renamed it the 2. Tip rudders and fences to balance high speed adverse yaw? Cannot wait for the unveiling for more info.

    Name that glider

Glighter - Cutlass (like this as well) - Orbiter - voldelaterre - StarGlider *Glaring at Elon for that one ol 'manu which is Frigate Bird in Hawaiian, Otaha in Tahitian Lapeep Chinook/Skookum (French La Pipe) for pipe bird, a band tailed eagle. The glider does resemble an old clay pipe

    Generac 992cc V-twin four cycle EFI 37hp

I am confused and would like some clarification: 1. Generac stopped making the 4 cycle 990cc vertical shaft motor some time ago. 2. Valley Engineering sold a conversion of the 990 called the 'Big Twin' for UL aircraft -but I believe they have stopped sales do to dwindling availability. Is this...

Has anyone Built one of these Ultralights?

Very well designed for such a small craft. The judicious use of engineered/machined end plugs/attachment points seriously extends the life of all aluminum tube structural members. A great value with a relatively long airframe lifespan.

Has anyone Built one of these Ultralights?

PM sent, but we should find a long term host for future requests

Has anyone Built one of these Ultralights?

Yeah, let's find another alternative, I think there is a chance of adding compression artifacts to the originals by posting them here individually as well.

Has anyone Built one of these Ultralights?

Perhaps a legal rehosting or archiving is in order if the drawings are available to the public (Paging Choppergirl?) Gryfair apparently no longer carries the files due to a site failure of some sort.
