    Two-seat WWII warbird replica candidates?

What Bellanca? They didn't build a low wing of any type, other than a tri-motor race a/c until 1939, and it's a cabin aircraft. The Ki-36 first flew in 1938.

Part availability of jacobs r-755’s radials?

Wood isn't that big of a problem. Spar material will take the longest, due to size and amount needed. The biggest is going to be to write the check for a mahogany log and have it veneered, to make the skins. The original skins were Duramold, which was a wet layup, cured in an autoclave. I'm...

Part availability of jacobs r-755’s radials?

It's a monster....:fear: I've had it stashed away since the early 90's, and have been slowly accumulating drawings, manuals and parts over the years. Part availability of jacobs r-755’s radials?

Parts for Jakes are not too bad to find. Just realize redoing a T-50 is a major undertaking and at times, there will be a need to have several people working at the same time to accomplish some tasks. It's not for the feint of heart. I'm solo rebuilding a Fairchild AT-21, which is a bit bigger...

Bronze vs. sealed precision bearings for control surface hinges

All the controls on my Fairchild and my Stinson run on bearings. Some are sealed and some are not. You can figure that bearing costs are multiple times what it would be for using bushings. The KP4's for the flap hinges on the Fairchild run about $35 each, and there are 8 of them.....

    Laser detection technology ?

Depending on power level and beam spread, the cat toy can flashblind someone to about 110 feet for a red one. Green will be more than twice that distance. The point of flashblindness by the FAA is defined as where the irradiance level is 100 microwatts per square centimeter. For practical...

    Laser detection technology ?

The typical green, 532 nanometer laser pointer, is the closest to the maximum sensitivity of the eye, which is at 555 nanometers. A Class 2 laser pointer, of any color has an FAA determined distraction distance of more than 2400 feet, ranging to over 9700 feet, depending on the beam divergence...

    Puzzling out my electrical system

Dana: First thing I would do is ohm out the wires from the battery to the relay and to the starter and verify that you don't have a failing wire. Then ohm out the relay to ground and the starter to ground. If those are all good, then you will need a second person, and do a voltage drop check...
