    What About EV Automobiles?

I've been driving electric since 2015. In 2015 I bought a Nissan Leaf with a whopping range of 85 miles. I drove that car for 5 years and 127,000 miles. In that time, electricity cost $2900.00 At 127,000 miles it still had a range of 60 miles at roughly 50 mph. Maintenance was 3 battery...

I built a C2 back in the early 90's, as I recall they are 1/2" tubes.

Is the 914 Rotax worth it?

914's used in the govt drones had many changes over the stock 914 engines. You will spend A LOT more then just buying a new engine.

Can you just buy the gearbox from newer rotax motors

Perhaps LEAF does not, but Lockwood sure does.

Can you just buy the gearbox from newer rotax motors

You must supply the serial number off the engine in order to buy a gearbox. Serial number must correspond to a Rotax aircraft engine or they won't sell the gearbox.

    Rangemarking (Internally)

Thanks all. I've (in a pinch) applied the stick on color arcs, but it always looks like a afterthought after building the custom panels for the customers. Just doesn't look professional after making everything else look so nice. I'll contact UMA.

    Rangemarking (Internally)

Does anyone have experience on opening up ASI's and applying rangemarks they could share? Not so much on opening the gauge, but on actually applying the markings where they look right. I've searched HBA, Google, and Youtube and surprisingly couldn't find anything. A/S offers it for an...

Definition of an "engine-driven electrical system"?

I've been installing a lot of Dynon equipment in my clients aircraft. I understand your sentiment here, but I have to say that at least where I'm flying after scanning for traffic and THEN looking at the screen, I'm surprised at just how many aircraft are out there that aren't picked up in the...

    Problem with Electric Vehicles

Outside. The only time its been inside: once for a tornado reported just south of the airport and brought it into the hangar, and the other was during the hurricane. Truck goes home with a full tank of diesel and gets parked sideways in front of the garage door to protect it.

    Problem with Electric Vehicles

My daily driver is a 2015 Leaf. Though I'm based in FL, we do see cold temps here - though nothing like they have in the NE this year. My car sits outside, and I have seen 30 degrees overnight. The Leaf is not a high end car. It has heated seats, heated steering wheel, and normal cabin...

    The Annual Registration Summary

Could be Ron, but considering how little assembly there is its quite conceivable one could have the entire thing ready before you got the paperwork back from the registry.

    To fly or not?

Maybe fate that I logged in today: Scarecrow, my business is located at Valkaria (X59), and I used to own / fly a Challenger II back in the early 90's. I have extensive knowledge of Rotax 2 strokes. I've flown them from FL to Oshkosh and back. I primarily work with Searey's now, but still...

    Ebay Today

For anyone looking at that last listing (for the Buc 2) the pictures show the wings covered in either Polyfiber or Ceconite process. That's not stock, flying characteristics will be an unknown as the airfoil is NOT the same.

Use of canned expanding foam to support aluminum hard lines

I don't have an answer for a better way to do it, but I would not using expanding foam. Expanding foam absorbs humidity and against the aluminum I'm sure would cause corrosion from the inside.
