    You might consider 4% copper alloy - invented for use on the Graf Zeppelin. I think you can also obtain it in the US as 2024 - stronger than 6061. <g> Stronger yet are the zinc alloys like 7075 then there's titanium ~ a shade pricey!

    I would never use a copper nicopress on galvanized steel cable - it's asking for galvanic corrosion.

    Fair question. I would like to achieve some skill at swedging balls, balls and single or double shanks and stud/fork and eye ends. For fun really. But knowing that aluminum nicopress ovals and stops are not good on stainless wire - and copper nicopress is weaker than swedged terminals.

    In my fever dreams, over the tube and foam ribs, would go a hard shiny film, stronger than the Sripol film which left an orange peel finish; instead an optically smooth film like say cellulose sheet- but strong and light.
