    The balance shaft makes it heavier and in addition the toothed belt that runs in the oil fails at quite low mileage, both to drive the oil pump/balance shaft as well as for the camshafts.

    A magnetometer cant be spoofed, so perhaps look for ground track deviating from magnetometer heading to at least alert pilots that something is going wrong with the GPS system.

    Why not inconel ? Its high strength at temperature could allow thinner wall thickness. If you are fabricating yourself its not as costly as one would imagine. Its one of the best materials for high temp oxidation outside of some much harder to acquire material like Haynes 214.

    The microsquirt is only used on the smaller engines. I believe that anything bigger than the AM15 gets a more capable ECU that can do sequential injection with an individual output for each injector and coil and not relying on wasted spark. But the info is not published on their website...

    What I meant in my comment is that there are few enough engine conversions running at 4000-5000 cruise rpm, let alone the yamaha 6500-8500 rpm. How do you feel about such high cruise rpm ?

    I got the micrometer adjustable hone and have been working on the worst cylinder. The steel barrel is very hard indeed and I have worked for hours to remove 0.004" from the cylinder. Before After Going to take a lot more to clean it up
