    It was on +40 when I bought the aircraft in 2005...looking through the engine log it had a seize at one time and the owner had it re-bored. I used it for a few years and re-built the engine...the bore was scratched so I had it bored to +60. It seized in flight on me...I managed to re-start it...

    Prob wont be legal in other parts of Europe...may not conform. Not tried to sell it as parts yet...still hoping to sell it as a complete a/c...its to nice to split really.... Thank for your advice guys.

    Hi guys I have British reg ultralight aircraft its getting on in years...been up for sale for a few month with no takers...I have priced around £300 more than the competition mainly due to its 2011 503 DCDI fitted with an M4 elec starter that I bought brand new from my Rotax dealer in the UK...

    Thanks guys. Bit more info off him today...his aircraft was test flown be an aircraft inspector some months ago who told him the EGTs where to high...so my buddy took the carb apart and found an odd type of needle...no markings and only 2 slots...it had been running fine with this needle/jet...

    Hi guys...a buddy of mine is having probs with his scsi 503 fitted to a trike.. In flight in the cruise at say 5000rpm...sometimes when he goes to full power to climb he finds the engine starts bogging with the EGT on the rear cylinder PTO end dropping quite a bit...EGT on the mag end staying...

    Rotax 503 Redrive Cog Removal

    Should be fitted dry...or it can fail. Relies on friction to lock....torque figs went up a few years back...top of my head it was 40ft...think its 65 now...you would need to check. They are expensive...dont manhandle it with the wrong puller. Nick.

    a 20/1 fuel/oil mix will give a weaker petrol/air mix...dont think it does the engine any favors running with so much oil. Rotax certainly dont recommend excess oil for break in.

    BB...I think thats why the idle is jetted rich. My 503 is fan cooled in a shroud...so should be protected from the cooling blast during descent...as the engine is at idle the cooling fan wont be blowing very hard so hopefully the motor wont cool to rapidly.     Rotax from what I remember dont give any advice on the best way to manage your Rotax 2 stroke during descent. My trike is powered by a 503 fan cooled DCDI...normal cruise RPM is 5000rpm... When I am ready to descend into the pattern or circuit as we call in in the UK....I snap the throttle...
