Input on the cause of Rotax 912 engine's serious shaking.

This right here is the smoking gun. Any decent engine mech will tell you, "always replace as a set", or at least ensure they are the same weight and dia. One piston that is even .010" over will cause an imbalance, as that cyl will be making a tad more power. IMHO the heads should be pulled...

    4130 tube ...help!

Not with TIG. Pure Argon only or you get very bad results. Cabover, rereading your original post, I noticed the boiling didn't start until you added the filler rod. Perhaps the filler is contaminated. It should be wiped clean with alcohol or degreaser just prior to use. Also rust on the...

    4130 tube ...help!

Two things I haven't seen mentioned are A/C-D/C and polarity. TIG for steel should be D/C EN. Running A/C or EP will cause problems.

What To Do With Cured Prepreg?

Methylene Chloride based paint strippers WILL remove epoxies. I would get some straight M/C and soak the prepreg in a closeable METAL drum for about 3 days.

Which aircraft kit fits me best

Look up the Murphy Rebel kits. They go from 2 seat to 6 seat, Rotax to Russian radial. The Moose uses a 360-400 Hp radial.

    Spot Weld Question

There should be no reason why he can't weld over the MIG tacks with O/A. Heat is heat. How one puts two pieces of steel together depends more on the filler metal.:)

    Airport dog needs good home

“Every soldier should know how to call for fire, and every leader needs to be proficient in it,” Cookman said. He explained that often times small arms fire isn’t enough to suppress the enemy. “If small arms are ineffective, and bigger guns are needed, this is how they get them,” he said...

    New engine for your consideration.

Having read the tech papers on this technology. This system has nothing to do with earlier attempts. This time they do not shut down only some of the cylinders. This system cycles between ALL cylinders so that they remain at optimum temp.

    110 heads need work

That also happens on VW's. The common remedy is to have them machined a set amount and use a spacer gasket of the required thickness to bring down the compression ratio. Bart
