Tandem Airbike complete & moved to airport.

When the HKS's were first introduced they had some problems "oiling & maybe vibs". But HKS fixed the problem & exchanged every engine with a new one not a reman. The engine idles @ 1600 to 1700 RPM and it's smooth. I have not looked inside one and I hope I don't have too. OOW

Tandem Airbike complete & moved to airport.

Thanks for all the comments and help along the way. The HKS does have a low speed vibration (idle speed) but anything above that is great. I made my first flight on 5/31/10, it was 45 min. of fear & joy all at same time. It flew hands off with no bad trends. OOW

Tandem Airbike complete & moved to airport.

N700XX, Tandem Airbike, HKS 700E 60 hp. Power Fin Prop. Eight years, two months, 484 hrs. I moved it to the airport Friday, I have not flown it yet. The 15 to 20 mph 90 deg. cross wind is a little much for me. But there's always tomorrow. Oscar Wilson, Kountze Texas.

    Tail Draggers

Can you teach yourself to fly a taildragger? It's hard to say. Try taxing on grass. You have to keep air flowing over the tail so that your rudder will be effective. If you can fly a nose dragger already it's going to be different you have to keep ahead of the plane with your rudder pedals...
