    RLU Breezy community?

Rob Unger (Carl’s son) still sells the plans. [email protected]. As for the Rotec- i Suppose anything is possible. Would it cool well as a pusher? Also the prop length is limited by the geometry of the tail boom, and the longest prop you’d likely be able to turn is 72”.

    First flight report- Breezy N1879B

It wasn’t me, I was at work wishing I was flying. A couple of guys at Hartford bought a fix-er-upper and just got it flying, might be them. I’ve been in contact but haven’t met them yet or seen the plane in person.

    Scott Ol' Ironsides in Carbon

When I get home tonight I’ll dig up what I can- articles, photos. Send me an email and I’ll send you what I have. I’d love to see another Ironsides get built.

    Scott Ol' Ironsides in Carbon

Are you an EAA member? If so you can access all the old magazine articles on their website. Here is a link to the 1971 article. https://www.eaa.org/eaa/news-and-publications/eaa-magazines-and-publications/eaa-sport-aviation-magazine/sport-aviation-archive/sport-aviation-browse

    Scott Ol' Ironsides in Carbon

Stanislavz, I see you found the 1992 article but do you have the one from Nov. 1971 Sport Aviation? It's available on the EAA website and goes into a lot of detail on the build. Scotty was a local and an EAA legend. The airplane is currently at the EAA museum awaiting restoration (display...

    Spacewalker

I just found their FB page and they explain on the page that the website is down, which is what led me to believe they were kaput. I'll try contacting them about plans. I'm in early dreaming stage about the next project and the Spacewalker is in the final 5.

    Spacewalker

Reviving a middle-aged thread here. Serenity Aviation does not seem to be a going concern any longer. Does anyone know what became of the Spacewalker/ Revolution design?

    New home builder in Wisconsin

Welcome Traves. Like Chris I'm in Milwaukee with a brother-in-law near Lambeau, but that doesn't matter. Ken Flaglor was local and I used to seem him around quite a bit. Unfortunately he passed a few months ago, but his widow still has all his stuff and there are some locals who were pretty...

    Breezy exhaust testing

I've been told by more than one person that the Breezy is very loud when observed from the ground. Wanting to do something about it I did some research on various exhaust system designs and finally settled on a C-150 style system from Custom Aircraft Parts of El Cajon, CA. Their service was...

    Experimental Placard

Good news and glad it worked out for you.

    Experimental Placard

I think the OP should get in touch with your DAR! Sounds like yours is a similar situation and it worked out in your favor.

    Experimental Placard

That makes more sense. I sport 2” NX numbers and no EXPERIMENTAL signage. But I complied with the strict letter of the law to do it, which is an important point in this discussion.

    Experimental Placard

Without knowing exactly what you are building it’s hard to answer but Mark cited the relevant FARs. It can be done- I did it with the Breezy 2 years ago but mine met the strict letter of the FARs. Your situation may or may not. Can you tell us exactly what your airplane is? That would help...

    Experimental Placard

It seems folks are confusing the NX rules with the passenger warning placard rules. They are two different things and only tangentially related.

    Breezy first flight video

This thread is wandering away on me, but I agree with Mike about the cnc tube kit. I looked at it but the premium (several thou) over the raw materials just wasn't worth it to save maybe 50 hours of work. Even pre-trimmed, you still need to jig everything in space which takes more time than...

    Breezy first flight video

The photo shoot was on the Friday of Oshkosh last year and it was COLD. Probably the coldest Oshkosh day in years. If you look close you can see that I’m wearing 2 pairs of jeans. It was fun though.

    Oshkosh arrival NOTAM posted

The much-anticipated 2019 OSH NOTAM has been posted. https://www.eaa.org/-/media/Files/AirVenture/FlyingIn/2019-NOTAM.ashx There is very little in there that changed, despite all the problems last year. The biggest change will be the Fond du Lac diversion procedure, which I am very skeptical...
