    Yep the Jab system works fine it's solid state so needs cooling. If you can bear the thought of points maybe you could use one off a Briggs and Stratton motor, simple as they come, and they go forever under awful conditions.

    Worth a look www.raa.asn.au The main difference is that Ra-aus is delegated by CASA (our FAA) to self administer the ops. The effect is low costs and speedy service. eg: my Sonex was inspected paper work faxed to head office approvals and docs back under an hour flying that afternoon.

    With the Aussie dollar at 68c - US $. you should be able to do a pretty good deal on a Jabiru 250. The kit is under $A70,000 ($US48,000) in Australia, includes everything but paint even a radio. The American models have a prop to restrict speed but with a Sensenich 62 x 56 it will top out at VNE...
