    Concepts only: Doodles without numbers

Possibly. There are several dimensions given in the article. Maybe someone with Starlet plans could compare them.

    Concepts only: Doodles without numbers

Found it! The Sport Aviation article from September, 1974 says the Beets has 100 sq. ft. of wing. I like the Starlet and there was a project for sale a few years ago in my area at a good price. Unfortunately, it wouldn't meet Light Sport rules so I couldn't fly it. The Beets probably would...

    Concepts only: Doodles without numbers

The Beets has quite a bit more wing than the Starlet. There isn't much info available. I think there was an article in Sport Aviation about it.

My Dad was born in the hills of east Tennessee near Kingsport. Same situation. He joined the Navy during WW11 and didn't know his birthday. He picked June 22 and used it thereafter.

    The Great FreeCAD Thread

You are right. I meant GB! I found a couple posts on the Freecad forum about lines not displaying in Freecad. It happened in other workbenches-not Part Design where I am working. Somebody found that increasing line size fixed the problem. I tried it and was able to complete the Smith...

    The Great FreeCAD Thread

Windows 10. I have had instances where it displayed new lines and then they disappeared when I rotated the view. The lines are displayed if I go to edit the sketch. That seems to indicate to me that the GPU or ram is overloaded. I assume that the geometry has to be loaded into the ram when...

    The Great FreeCAD Thread

I am trying to learn Freecad and I believe I have run into the limitations of my computers processing power. At this point, I am been trying to draw wireframe models of steel tube fuselage frames. After a long painful process, I am finally having some success. The problem I am having is that...

What did you do on your airplane project today?

Screwing up parts. I am making a bracket. Twice I carefully measured from the wrong end and removed metal in the wrong place. Some days it is best to put the tools down and walk away!

    Inherent, quiet?

My Rans S7 was painfully loud when I bought it, to the point where it was unpleasant to fly. It has a Jabiru 3300 engine that develops full power at 3300 rpm. It had a Sensenich 2 blade, ground adjustable composite prop that had the tips clipped off to 61-1/2" diameter. I replaced the...

Microsquirt EFI on a Jabiru 3300

We had several days of snow and wind so I worked on the fuel system. I reworked the fuel lines to supply fuel to the Pollack tank selector valve, added fuel filters, installed a shutoff valve and the fuel pump. The bracket to support the fuel valve is designed but not fabricated yet. After...

    Jabiru 3300 fuel burn

I have a Gen 1 in a Rans S7. I average about 4 gals/hr. at my normal slow cruise. The previous owner planned 6 gph and that is a good number for cross country. However, I am one of those people who flies off a 5,200' msl field and routinely climbs to 12,000'. The highest manifold pressure I...

force one prop hub seal leaking

Yes, the main seal was leaking badly too when I decided to split the case. It turned out that the steel shell of that seal was bent.

force one prop hub seal leaking

When the new seals didn't stop the leak I cleaned everything up, flew it, and looked at it again. I split the case to reseal it.

force one prop hub seal leaking

I thought my prop hub seals were leaking so I replaced them. It still leaked. I discovered it was leaking around the outside of the bearing.

    Attn all VW users

The thick carbon buildup on the back of intake valves is common in carburated gasoline engines. The intake stroke pulls oil through the exhaust guide and and any gasoline on the valve gets baked on the valve.
