    Flying crowd

I've been thinking and training for pilot's license for some time. And my general feeling is that a fraction of the pilot community tend to be emotionally tempermental people. I passed my written with an 87. But I just don't feel a sense of trust. I would have to rely on many people to keep my...

    Easiest to Land...

I know that I've asked a similar question before... Wouldn't the Zenith STOL be the easiest airplane to land for a beginner? Would it be more forgiving if your approach is too high or low?

    Rans S14 or Titan Tornado

I have been thinking about these two airplanes. 1. I'm looking for the least difficult to build. 2. Reliable and quiet engine such as the 912. 3. Easy to fly for a beginner. 4. High visibility of a pusher.

    Zenith STOL wing...

Is it true? That the airplane was designed not to gain speed during a dive (nose down) into small landing strip. I'm guessing the flaps would have to be down. And the wing drag must be considerable.

High Blood Pressure = No High Altitude

I just read that high blood pressure people should not travel to high altitude destinations for vacation. I don't know what duration. But I think I know why I'm getting sick now. I only have 5 hours of flight time. Curious, what altitude am I required to reach to finish my private license.

Tired after car trip or airplane trip?

:ponder:If you had to compare how you'd feel after a long 3 hour car ride to an hour flying, which makes you more tired?

    Flat Turn ??

I read the review on the Sky Arrow 600. Author said that the plane could do flat turns without impunity. Is doing flat turns usually a dangerous thing.

    Kitfox Popularity Theory ?

I read that Kitfox was the second most popular kitplane ever. Vans was first. Is there a design reason or a marketing reason why this kit plane was more popular than say the Zenith 701?

Anyone Build in a Storage Unit ?

Anyone heard of someone building an airplane in a rented storage unit like a UHaul drive up storage garage? Not sure what the owners would think of a customer doing this? It's about $150 to rent a one car garage from a storage place close by my house.

Aluminum & South Texas Corrosion ?

I live in probably the most corrosive environment in the USA due to the salt air. I am thinking that for sure I will need to finish with paint & primer for protection. For my workshop, is an outdoor patio with a roof above out of the question?

    Night Vision goggles ?

Would night vision goggles be of help during night time flying or emergency landing? Is it legal to fly night VFR with no moon light?

    Why Sport Pilot = 10,000 feet ?

I thought higher altitude was safer? Why does the sport license limit the ceiling to 10,000 feet?

I was looking at the Comp Air 6 ? Anyone have anything to say about building the airplane ? Or anything else about the plane ?

    Cirrus & Training ?

Cirrus touts thier SR20 to be a trainer. After looking at the NTSB records. The airplane seems accident prone. Also, the wing load is high. I am curious as to whether Cirrus does anything else to make their planes safer than other airplanes with high wing load such as Lancair, Glasair, and...

Sonex TailDragger easy as Tricycle ?

I got the Sonex DVD. The video mentioned that landing in a Sonex Taildragger is just as easy as landing with tricycle gear. I'm guessing this is an exageration? Does anyone know if Sonex has a more docile taildragger landing?

    New Pilot = Zenith 701 ?

Is the Zenith 701 an easier plane to land than say a Sonex for a beginner pilot? I only have 5 hours on my log book. The last time I tried landing, I bounced the Cessna Skyhawk with my instructor in it. He was cool about it. I can't find a reported number of Zenith 701's around the world. I...
