    LiteFighters: P-40/P-36 and beyond

The seversky P35 looks like a very closely shaped design as well

    LiteFighters: P-40/P-36 and beyond

With the P36,P40 done, another very closely shaped design could be the Regianne 2002 with the option for radial or inline engine versions.

    LiteFighters: P-40/P-36 and beyond

Maybe the way to go with the P39 is to stick the 250hp PBS TP100 turboprop in the nose or the “upcoming” turbaero 300hp High efficiency turboprop. Won’t have problem with high altitude performance. Couple of manufacturers have already used the PBS, but it’s around 100k for the entire engine with...

    Blueprints for P-40 Warhawk

Oh my… a Regianne 2002 replica, didn’t know that existed. Anyone ever seen the build plans for that one? Regianne 2002 uses a similar landing gear to the P40 and there are two versions an inline or radial engine.

    Ducted fan aircraft

Watch out for the sonex pbs 2 seater… that one may get into the air soon. Not meaning to put down ducted fan, but I really think it’s not that safe and if any of these ducted fans with home build high reving piston engines of differing quality and maintenance start crashing into people’s home...

    Ducted fan aircraft

Any idea the guys at the any idea if the UL-39 will eventually have a turbofan engine ie a ducted fan driven by jet engine from PBS?

    Ducted fan aircraft

Oh yes I am still very much interested in the Czech baby L-39, if they end up offering it with a turbine powered ducted fan (PBS engine) ie a very high bypass turbofan, that will be the ultimate. Price it around the 200 to 400k mark and make sure it’s very low cost to maintain and I think that...

    Ducted Fan Pseudo-Jets

No GA or average pilot will fly a ducted aircraft, it has no advantage or appeal whatsoever compared to a cessna or one of the new LSA propeller planes. It doesn't sound like a jet, sounds exactly like a vacuumn cleaner and will likely be banned from most GA airports because of the sound...

    Ducted Fan Pseudo-Jets

The early high bypass turbofan called the Astafan is nearly a ducted fan with a jet core. The ducted fan had a variable pitch design for optimising thrust at different speeds ie idle takeoff vs cruising. https://lfmpnews.blogspot.com/2015/12/1990-1996-f-bstm-fan-commander-perpignan.html

    Ducted Fan Pseudo-Jets

The UL39 ALBI is indeed going to be powered by a turboshaft version of the PBS-TJ100. In some ways it is closer to a high-bypass turbofan. The best engine for it would have been the DGEN 380 or 390 with about 600 to 900lbf thrust. It's the version called UL-39 ALBI II M DUCTED FAN TRAINER...

Why even bother… get the personal flying trash can https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williams_X-Jet great sub-urban camouflage.. if ever flagged down for speed violations, just head to the nearest apartment block dumpster and park right next to the trash cans…

"Beast One" - the next generation Microjet

Actually I brought up the micro jet 200 because it used something that has a thrust of 250lbf, if ever a turbofan of around 600 to 900lbf becomes available to public at around $100k ish, this design could become of interest.

Does anyone know anything about the Microjet200? Uses 2 Microturbo TRS 18-1 engines

Why battery-powered aircraft will never have significant range

Reminds me of two nuclear powered aircrafts at the height of the cold war… One’s a nuclear reactor prop and the other a jet engine with a nuclear core https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_Tu-95LAL https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convair_NB-36H...

Veloce 600, 6 seat pressurized twin auto-converted engines.

Is this something that’s in development? Any more information? Glad to hear of a very measured/methodical development plan. Sure it will not be the fastest way to the end product, having real proven performance at every stage of development is far more important to overall success.

Veloce 600, 6 seat pressurized twin auto-converted engines.

It will interesting if this airframe gets proven with whatever piston engine available and then a reliable “affordable” turboprop like the turbaero or pbs TP100 is adapted for the airframe. This plane will then look a lot like a avanti piaggio. A twin turboprop with de ice and usable range and...

It will be great! A subsonex twin engine & two place jet!! Abit like the micro jet 200B https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microjet_200
