    Any single engine system is a single point of failure, regardless of whether it is direct drive or through a PSRU. The reliability of the system will be the reliability of the engine times the reliability of the PSRU. So, how reliable is the PSRU, and is that satisfactory?

    My guess is that you are likely looking at a custom engine to do that. If you are wanting to drive two props like that, you'll probably find more success in designing and building a transmission with a 90-degree transverse drive out to the props. It's been done before, so it could be done...
