    Mock up suggestions......

If you have a router, you can make round dowels whatever length you need. 3/4 in. sq wood would work well. Maybe a little biased....building an all wood LSA Maranda.

    Bounsall Super Prospector

That's what I was afraid of. It is a pretty good design though. I got pretty well into wing construction (before family issues intervened), and I have to say that it is simple and straight forward to build. It's a very good candidate for someone looking for a single place.

    Bounsall Super Prospector

Does anyone really have the updated plans for the Prospector? I saw one poster who said he had updated them and had them on Autocad. I have a set I purchased in the 90s, and if there are updates or a digital version available, I would like to get them.

    set of wheels and brakes

Thnaks, but I don't think they will stand up to the off field landings I anticipate doing.

Are vehicle strobe power supplies suitable for EAB

Just curious if Whelen vehicle strobe power supplies are safe and suitable for use in experimental homebuilts, and if so, what type/ configuration? Is anyone using something from a different application or something "homebuilt"? Thanks, William

    Landing lights in wooden wings

Hello all, I have a pair of Aerosun LED lights, and would like to use them as landing lights in the leading edge of a wooden wing on an LSA project. The plans have no information for that type of installation. Can anyone point me in the right direction or offer lessons learned from doing an...

    control cable shackles

Same thing only much smaller. Since AN-115 shackles are over $12 ea and 16 of them are required for the wings alone, I was wondering if someone had devised another method of making the connection from the swagged cable to the attachment bracket. Any MARANDA builders out there?

    control cable shackles

I completely agree that the plans should be followed. Arbitrarily changing a structural item can cost you more than $. In this case, the change from strapping material to cable involves no change to the wing structure at all. The only penalty for this change is 3 or 4 lbs, about $800 and...

    control cable shackles

Hello, I've just started assembling the right wing for a 14H Maranda (finally! a "big" piece). Thinking ahead, I have a question about attaching cables (such as drag anti-drag) to brackets. My question: Is there an alternative to using cable shackles to attach the cable to the compression...

    Turnbuckle parts

Hello, I'm looking for 8 MS21251-A3L turnbuckle barrels (4 in., aluminum with 10/32 thread) and 16 MS21259-3L stud ends if anyone has a few laying around. Thanks, William

    What part to complete first?

Having your shop space ready should be first on the list. Next, start with a small simple part like the rudder or a wing rib. That way you can develop your building skills and confidence with the minimum of expense when you make a mistake. You WILL make mistakes, and have to remake at least a...

    O-235 or O-200 engine

Hello all, I'm looking for an O-235 or possibly an O-200 for a Falconar Maranda project. Would prefer the O-235 because of my size. Does not have to be running, but needs to have all or most of the parts. Thanks, William A mile of road can take you a mile, but a mile of runway can take...

Light weight (and) inexpensive wheels/brakes for LSA

The Matco products look good. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about internal vs external caliper? All the fixed wing acft I have flown had external calipers (Cessnas and Pipers). Is there any advantage?

Light weight (and) inexpensive wheels/brakes for LSA

What ideas are floating out there about economical wheels and brakes for a 1300ish lb LSA like a Maranda? I fly helicopters for a living, so I am not very in the know about wheels and brakes. Has anyone used alternatives like motorcycle, scooter or other types brakes?
